Velvet Vests (and other garments very soon!!!)

We have discovered a another wonderful outcome of velvet embossing--Vests!!  We especially like the color-blocked vests!!  But, the solid color ones are wonderful too!!  You can purchase the vests made, or purchase the supplies to make your own.  Ohhhhh and ahhhhh until your heart is content--then decide which one(s) you want!!

Keep in mind that our digital camera is not the top of the line--we are taking "real" pictures and will have them in soon!

We love this vest!!  "Southwest Heart"  This vest will actually be made with the stamp shown and a smaller version which was unavailable at the time this vest was made.  The SW Heart is by the Desert Stamper.

We love this vest too!!!  "Fabulous Fall Color-blocked".  This is the first color-blocked vest we made--it is so outstanding!!  We have sold many of these locally already!!  Notice the appliqués on the color.  If you purchase a completed vest from us, you will receive matching appliqués.  All stamps by Posh Impressions.

This was the first vest we ever did--let's call it "Ladybug Delight".  We learned with this vest to be aware of the button holes.  Take a look at the "Flower Power in Blue" to see how we stay away from where the button holes are going to be.  For those of you that are going to make a vest, check back very soon to see how it looks after it is embossed and before it is sewn together.  This ladybug duet is by Posh Impressions.  This vest was made for Dee Gruenig.

We will call this vest, "Flower Power in Blue".  If you choose to purchase your vest completed from us, you will receive one-three temporary appliqués to accent your shirt or blouse with.  It really dresses up the whole outfit!!

***This wonderful Royal Blue velvet is out of stock at the moment.  We plan to order it quite soon.

"Magnificent Magnolia in Teal".  We made this vest for Dee Gruenig as well.  Hopefully, we will see her wearing it soon!!

"Patriotic Patchwork".  Red, White, and Blue (unfortunately, not very photographable together) but wonderful in real life.  This star stamp is by Stampendous!

All our samples--aren't they  fun!!

"Pretty Poinsettias".  One of these vests also went to Dee Gruenig.  Her duet stamps really add visual interest to a garment.

We completely emboss the back panel of our vests and completely line the vests with a mid-weight satin.

We have found that using the same design in two different sizes, or similar designs creates visual interest within the garment.  We discovered this as we experimented with Posh Impressions Duets.  Be sure to keep that in mind as your are planning your creation.

Jeweltone ColorBlocked Vests

My-oh-my!!  I wish my digital camera would take better pictures:  the back is completely purple and the front is (upper) majestic and teal;  (lower) purple and blue.  These vests are absolutely gorgeous in everyway!!

To make your own vests

For the color-blocked vests, we use McCall's pattern #8285.  It is a unisex pattern, so it is available in sizes from children to big and tall men.

Material needed (for a regular sized women)

Back Panel:  1 yd
Each Front Top Panel:  1 yd
Each Little Panel:  1/4 yd

Total:  2 1/2 yards

This provides plenty of material for ease in cutting.  Also, you will have extras for lengthening the vest (if desire) and other Velvet Embossing Projects.

We line our vests with a mid-weight satin.  It not only  dresses it up, but also gives it  nice stability.  We have very limited colors available at this time:   red, burgundy, gold/brown we used in the fall vests.  If you are interested, please let us know.
