CEX199  Christmas Tree to Easter Cross Card

Stamps by:  Trees by Heartlooms/Posh Impressions;  Cross by Eureka!;  Robe and Sunlight by The Stamp Pad;  Ground Cover by Darcies.  Sayings are computer generated.

Supplies needed:

Double stick tape or glue
Dries clear adhesive
Pop Dots:  1/16, 1/8, 1/4 inch
Light Blue, Dark Blue, and Purple Dye Base Ink Pads
Sponges
Markers

Instructions:

1.  Place all images onto support stock and detail trim.
2.  Using the three ink pads and sponges, sponge the sky onto the main card.  You will want to be pretty heavy on the wintery side.  Then, take a tissue or paper towel and wipe the excess off of the "snowflake" dots.
3.  Layer all the sayings onto the navy cardstock.
4.  Panel 1:  Cut the bottom "branch" off one white and one green tree.  Position the trees onto the panel.  When you like your arrangement:  Place the furthest back white tree on flat.  The next green tree with 1/16 inch pop dots.  The small green tree with 1/8 inch dots.  The front white tree with 1/4 inch dots.
5.  Panel 1:  Layer on the saying.
6.  Panel 2:  Cut each of the branches of the tree apart.  Cut the cross thinner all the way around.  Using the dries clear adhesive, glue the branches onto the cross.  Then trim off any excess cross showing behind the second from the top branch.
7.  Panel 2:  Using 1/8 inch dots, attach the cross and branches to the main card.
8.  Panel 2:  Layer on the sayings.
9.  Panel 3:  Color the sunlight.
10.  Panel 3:  Using 1/16 inch dots, attach the cross to the main card.  Using 1/8 inch dots, attach the robe to the main card.  Then, use some dries clear adhesive to glue the part of the robe overlapping the cross onto the cross.
11.  Layer on and "slip-in" the saying panel. If I did not cut your slit long enough, just use an exacto knife to cut any more that you would need.  I cut mine too long and did not want to do that with yours.
12.  Now you have a decision to make.  At first I did not have the white panels on the navy blue.  But, I felt the white was not strong enough to hold this card appropriately.  It was "out of balance".  So, you can decide if you want to leave the panels just on white or layer.
13.  If you decide to layer, tape the navy panels together.  You need to tape the panels that are 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 together.  Then, tape the center white panel to the center navy panel.  Then tape on the other panels.  But, you need to somewhat fold the card up to get the panels to position properly.  If you went flat onto the navy, the card would not fold.  I hope this makes sense!!
14.  When you have your card constructed, you are ready to glue on the accessory items.  Use the dries clear and allow to dry.
15.  I created this card in so many stages from seeing the idea to formulating what stamps we could do it with.  Then, the step by step trial and error with the actual pieces that I did not realize how involved it was.  If you have any questions at all, please do call or email.
16.  We send you wishes for a most wonderful New Year!!
